The Arc of Katy Hosts Presentation on Technology Safety

The Arc of Katy hosted a presentation for parents and caregivers on “Exploring Technology and Ways to Keep Our Kids Safe”. Laptops, iPads and cell phones have become a way of life for parents and their children. These forms of technology can be great resources but also can bring may safety issues for children.

Sergeant Roy L. Guinn, Community Relations Supervisor with the Harris Constable Precinct 5 shared the dangers of the internet and social media for children if not kept informed and closely monitored. Sergeant Guinn real life experiences on the dangers of everyday technology often used by children.

Nadia Kahn, Owner of Phone Repairs N More presented information on protecting kids from what they see, who they meet and what the send on their phones and social media platforms. Mrs. Kahn shared informative information for parents on phone safety and parental controls.
The information was welled received by those in attendance and they left with information and resources on how to protect not only their children but also themselves.
