Down on the Farm

Thanks to the generosity of the Keller family, The Arc of Katy day program participants were able to visit a farm outside of Schulenburg for a fun and educational farm experience. They were able to meet chickens, goats, sheep, rabbits, and cows. They collected eggs and learned that a hen can lay one egg a day and that an egg takes 21 days to hatch. Helped feed the goats, see and touch the wool that came from the sheep, and learned about lanolin. Participants enjoyed petting the softest rabbits, but the highlight was feeding the cattle treats straight from their hands; an exciting experience for all. The weather could not have been better. A perfect day for all to remember!
