The Arc of Katy Summer Day Program is open to individuals with intellectual and development disabilities who are at least 16 years of age and meet the program's minimum requirements.
In Summer 2021, we are offering both in-person and online programs to include as many individuals as possible in our programs while maintaining health and safety protocols in response to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
In-Person Summer Day Program
The Arc of Katy is continuing to offer our in-person summer day program from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. We reduced capacity to allow for physical distancing and continue to maintain health and safety protocols in our facility and buses to help prevent spread of Covid-19. Participants engage in a variety of activities at The Arc of Katy facility and on field trips to area parks and other interesting and entertaining area attractions where we can maintain our health and safety protocols. Tuition for the in-person program is $35 per day plus an occasional activity fee.
Online Summer Day Program
In addition, we are offering online summer day program sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays as an alternative and supplement to our in-person summer program. On days for which they are registered, participants in the online summer program engage with their peers via Zoom from their own homes in instructor-facilitated activities from 10 to 10:45 a.m. and 1 to 1:45 p.m. Tuition for the online program is $20 per day.
Three sessions of the summer program are offered in 2021:
2021 Summer Session 1: June 1 to June 25 (May 31 is a holiday)
2021 Summer Session 2: June 28 to July 23 (July 4 is a holiday)
2021 Summer Session 3: July 26 to August 13
Participants can register for one, two, or three sessions. Summer Program registrations are accepted on a first come, first registered basis. Participants can register to attend one or more days of each week of each session but are required to attend the same days each week of the same session.
Space is limited. Participants already enrolled in The Arc of Katy Day Program are provided an opportunity to be the first to register for the summer program. Because of our reduced facility capacity this year, it is unlikely that any participant will be able to attend more than one to a few days each week. Efforts will be made, however, to accommodate all interested individuals with an opportunity to attend.
Requirements and Registration
All participants in the in-person or online programs, must meet minimum requirements, be registered as members of The Arc of Katy, and complete and update annually all required program forms.
Important information, including minimum requirements and guidelines for program participation, is included in The Arc of Katy Programs Manual available here.
If after reading the Programs Manual, you believe your family member meets the minimum requirements and guidelines, please contact The Arc of Katy by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone (832) 754-9802 so that our staff can send you additional information and required forms.
The Arc of Katy offers our Be Strong Program activities to in-person participants at no additional cost to promote physical fitness and good health. Learn more about our Be Strong Program and the requirements.
