Sandi Dancel
Program Coordinator
Sandi was born and raised in Iowa and lived in Denver, Colorado, for 24 years before moving to Katy, Texas. She and her husband—her best friend—have two sons, one daughter, and five amazing grandchildren.
Sandi began her career in Special Education with Katy ISD at Nottingham Elementary and later transferred to McRoberts Elementary, where her deep love and respect for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) began and continues to grow.
In 1999, she became one of the founding members of the Katy Wolf Pack Special Olympics team, which started with 13 athletes and has since grown into one of the largest delegations in Texas, now serving nearly 200 athletes.
After retiring from KISD, Sandi joined The Arc of Katy in 2018 and describes it as “the best job of my life.” She shares, “To go to work every day with the most dedicated staff I’ve ever known is just incredible. And the participants fill our hearts. We learn from them every single day. The laughter and joyous noise are contagious—and I get to experience this daily.”

Ann Ferner
Administrative Assistant
Ann has lived in Katy since 1978 and is proud to call Katy home. She has been married for almost 40 years to her wonderful husband and has three children and four grandchildren who keep her busy.
Ann has worked at The Arc of Katy for 11 years and loves sharing information with families about the organization’s wonderful programs. What makes her day the happiest, though, is spending time with the participants and staff who make The Arc of Katy such a special place.
THE ARC OF KATY PART-TIME STAFF
The Arc of Katy is fortunate to be supported by an incredible team of dedicated part-time staff members who bring compassion, patience, and joy to their work every day. These individuals are the heartbeat of our programs.
