ETK - "Special Needs Toolkit"

The Arc of Katy, through its Empowerment Through Knowledge program is offering a training for parents of children/adults with special needs entitled “Special Needs Toolkit”.  The training will be provided by attorney Boyd Handley with The Handley Law Office.

The “Special Needs Toolkit” training will provide participants with information on the legal documents that parents need to have for their child/adult with special needs.  Mr. Handley will discuss issues and needs for individuals with special needs prior to the age of 18 and afterwards when they are considered an adult in the State of Texas.

Boyd Handley is an attorney and offers trainings to parents because he remembers how overwhelmed he and his wife were as parents of a daughter with special needs as she transitioned through life and the limited resources that were available when they started their journey.  Mr. Handley states “We strive to make things easier for parents so they will have solid direction from someone who has walked in their shoes.”

Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic the training will be offered in person and virtually via ZOOM on March 4, 2021 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.
